We do this through engaging digital experiences, face-to-face workshops and sustainable programs that encourage people to move more, shift their mindset and eat healthier while enjoying the foods they love. By drawing on over five decades of experience and expertise in behavioral science, we build communities in order to deliver wellness for all.

Role Overview:

Are you passionate about the user's experience?

Do you want to help lead a dynamic team working to answer challenging questions and to create products aimed at making the world a healthier place?

If you answered yes to these questions, we want to talk with you!

WW is currently looking to hire an Experience Research Manager to help lead our team of 3-4 researchers. Part of the larger WW Product Design Team, the Experience Research team is a close-knit group of practitioners on a quest to understand and advocate for what people need and why throughout their health and wellness journey. We use qualitative research methods to provide actionable information to designers (both UX and service), product managers, and more.

The Experience Research Manager role is a blended one. Part of your time will be spent leading research, and part of your time will be spent building the team, helping them develop their craft and instituting and/or improving processes for high impact results.

The Health & Wellness space is growing exponentially, and as a research leader here, your work will have an immediate, meaningful impact on the lives of our customers across the globe.

Research responsibilities:

* Lead research for high impact, ambiguous problem spaces
* Partner with PMs and Designers to frame and prioritize problems to solve based on data

* Determine the objectives, research plan and tools (interview guides, etc) for research projects with input from key partners

* Collect insights about the people within the WW community (customers, prospective customers, coaches, etc.) through a variety of methods, whether it be contextual interviews, concept tests, usability tests, diary studies, ethnographic observations, or a new method you invent

* Translate research findings into actionable insights and/or design tools (e.g., personas, design principles, design considerations, etc.)

* Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization; using storytelling to advocate for customer needs and influence direction/decisions

* Collaborate with other teams (e.g., Analytics, Behavioral Science, etc.) to triangulate quantitative and qualitative data to better understand and describe customer behavior

* Collaborate with smart, passionate researchers, designers and WW partners in various locations around the world

Management responsibilities:

* Establish strong relationships that build trust across design, product, engineering, and business partners / SME's

* Evolve research processes and best practices to provide both efficiency and effectiveness across WW's many initiatives.

* Prioritize competing needs and align people and resources accordingly. Advocate for additional resources if necessary.

* Unlock potential by evaluating and developing team members, helping them hone their craft and maximize their effectiveness/impact

* Effectively leverage leadership techniques to motivate, guide, and inspire your direct reports

* Model the way, demonstrating passion for the customer and the ability to empathize with those seeking support for health and weight management /wellness-related issues

Requirements:

* BA/BS degree in Human Factors, HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field or equivalent practical experience

* 5-7 years experience conducting user research through methods such as semi-structured interviews, field research, in-person or remote usability tests

* An established leader, with a minimum of 2-4 years experience managing people. Bonus points for previously working at a mission-driven organization.

* Expert at asking questions and actively listening; able to hear/uncover what's not being said

* Strong communicator, expressing findings and insights through whatever means necessary to tell the story

* Passionate learner, dedicated to the craft of research and its various methodologies

* Strong leader and coach who fosters independence

* Skilled in providing, and loves receiving, actionable feedback (positive and constructive)

* Strong understanding of, and ability to articulate, the advantages and disadvantages of different research methods, and are able to effectively apply methods appropriately during the product development process.

* Value collaboration, communication, diversity, and inclusivity; recognize that experience comes in many forms

* Proven ability to build, manage, and mentor high-performing teams

Please be prepared to share 2-3 examples of projects you've worked on in a research and/or management capacity
