Mgr Marketing Communication

Job Description The School of Human Evolution and Social Change (SHESC) is an inter-disciplinary unit of anthropologists, archaeologists, political scientists, sociologists, and global health experts who combine their expertise to better understand the human condition in both the ancient past and the present. The school is home to the anthropology and global health undergraduate degrees, with doctoral programs in environmental social science, anthropology, and global health. We seek a Senior level Marketing and Communications Manager to provide high-level strategic communications and marketing for the School. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Operations and closely with the events team, the academic advising team, and the school faculty leadership to conceive and execute a marketing and communication strategy to promote the academic and teaching mission of the School. The Manager will serve as an important liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences communications team and be the point of contact for marketing efforts by the broader university. This person will understand the SHESC mission and have the writing and technical skills necessary to creatively tell the SHESC story across web, social media, and email platforms. The successful candidate will work with, and supervise, the SHESC Communications Specialist to effectively translate that mission to diverse constituencies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or closely related field AND five (5) years of experience in a public relations/marketing role; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
