This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Archaeologist for our Baltimore, MD office. The following locations will also be considered: , Herndon, VA , Richmond, VA , Virginia Beach, VA , or Washington, DC . Be involved in projects with our Heritage Resources Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Directing field teams on archaeological surveys and excavations
- Interacting with clients, landowners, contractors, and others
- Report writing
- Working with tribal monitors and representatives
- Helping clients comply with state and federal regulations
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in archaeology/anthropology, Master's degree highly preferred
- Prior experience in CRM archaeology, highly preferred
- Ability to work independently and to lead teams of 2-6 archaeological technicians
- Expertise in a defined archaeological sub-field, as shown by publications or presentations
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to travel for projects
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's
- Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the Southeast or Middle Atlantic area
