Drew is dedicated to exceptional faculty mentorship and hands-on learning that successfully prepares students for their futures. Students regularly connect with local communities, and because of our proximity to New York City, we are home to multiple New York Semester experiences for our undergraduate students: Wall Street, United Nations, Contemporary Art, Communications and Media, Social Entrepreneurship, and New York Theatre. The University also houses the Charles A. Dana Research Institute for Scientists Emeriti, the Center for Global Education, the Center for Civic Engagement, the Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict, and the United Methodist Archives and History Center. Drew also recently received a multi-year grant to transform teaching and learning in the humanities by incorporating emerging digital technologies, methods, and pedagogies.

History of the Program:

Drew's Business Studies Program grew out of the interests of students, faculty, administrators, and trustees to create a rigorous business program that truly reflects the liberal arts tradition. Starting in 1996 with the Wall Street Semester course in New York City, the Economics Department subsequently created a minor in Business, Society, and Culture intended to be a business minor attractive to students in the humanities. This later evolved into a Business major integrating courses from more than a dozen departments and disciplines including not only the social and physical sciences but also the arts and humanities, producing majors well-rounded in not only basic principles of business but also the influence of culture, globalization, institutions, social behavior, language, and politics on markets and economic activity. In 2020, the success of the Business major led to the expansion of similarly inspired majors in Marketing as well as in Accounting and Finance. The Marketing major offers a critically informed program of study located at the intersection of business and the social sciences. The major exposes students to foundational concepts and contemporary approaches in the field while helping students cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility and professional ethics in a way that reflects Drew University's commitment to a liberal arts education.

To enrich education through diversity, Drew University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. In accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations, a successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. These positions are subject to a background check.
