Description of Work Unit
The Department of Anthropology and Geography exists to:
- Offer and maintain instructional programs that provide an understanding of the social, environmental, and evolutionary contexts of the human condition over time;
- Conduct research in programmatic areas of Environment, Development, Health, and Well-Being, and professional techniques within the various sub-fields of anthropology and geography, in order to advance and expand knowledge in these respective fields;
- Actively participate in programs of interdisciplinary research.
Position Summary
The Department of Anthropology & Geography hires Postdoctoral Fellows from an open pool to help administer research projects when funding is available. Tasks may include designing and conducting research in area of expertise, writing, and editing, producing reports and presenting research results.
Required Job Qualifications
- Ph.D. in anthropology or a related field at the time of appointment (or Ph.D. dissertation must be submitted by start date).
- Demonstrated potential for research excellence
- Demonstrated commitment to outreach and public communication of science.
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in scientific research and education.
