Counselor / Counselor In Training

Victory Recovery Partners in Massapequa, NY is looking for two + counselor / counselor in training to join our 100 person strong team. We are located on 727 N Broadway Ste Suite B1. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities and Duties

The COUNSELOR is responsible for providing group and individual counseling to program clients.

The COUNSELOR is expected to:

• Assess program clients and participate in a comprehensive evaluation of each client to screen for substance abuse history/issues.
• Document, implement and update the treatment and/or individual service plan for clients as assigned. Knowledge of OASAS 822 regulations and documentation requirements.
• Write Daily progress notes, maintain all documentation requirements in a timely manner.
• Facilitate group counseling sessions.
• Participate in quality assurance review as required by program management.
• Plan and facilitate aftercare with community based providers.
• Identify and develop relationships with community based providers.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Human Services fields of Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, Anthropology, Audiology, Community Mental Health, Criminal Justice, Dance Therapy, Divinity, Education, Gerontology, Music Therapy, Nursing, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy, Art Therapy, or Rehabilitation Counseling.
• Willingness to obtain CASAC Credential within 3 years.

Experience:

• Experience working with clients with history of alcohol or substance abuse preferred.
