Our mission is to study and protect archeological sites in Arkansas, to preserve and manage information and collections from those sites, and to communicate what we learn to the people of Arkansas. Cooperative agreements with seven state university campuses, two state parks, and the UA System's Winthrop Rockefeller Institute enable scholars at ten research stations around the state to carry out this mission. The Survey has been a model for statewide archeological programs in the United States and around the world. Department: Archeological Survey Department's Website: https://archeology.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties: Duties the Archaeological Assistant include: fieldwork (some requiring in-state travel), collections processing and data analysis, record keeping, supervising volunteers in the laboratory and the field, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist. Position is located in Arkadelphia, AR. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree in anthropology or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education * Archeological field experience in North America, east of the Rocky Mountains * Archeological lab experience * Experience in working with archeological records and collections Applicable equivalencies may be considered.
