We are Canvas8, the global leader in behavioral insights operating out of London, New York, and LA. We help organizations grow through a better understanding of people. Primarily focused on media, communications, and product development, our insights inspire clients including Nike, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Google, Mindshare, Ogilvy, and MTV.

Our work is about investigating the hidden insights in everyday life from the psychology of boredom to teenage make-up rituals and making them meaningful for brands. Our team is a blend of different disciplines and skills from psychology to journalism, and anthropology to behavioral economics. What unites them is a desire to understand people and a passion for delivering outstanding work.

Our flagship product is Canvas8 Membership including the Canvas8 Library, an online platform of over 30,000 trend reports and case studies spanning 15 industries, 9 markets and 6 generations. The Library is complemented by our bespoke research projects where we answer a clients business challenge through mixed research methodologies to deliver compelling thought leadership.

Weve been running for over ten years from our London base and, building on a significant US client list, in 2017 we successfully launched Canvas8 US. While our London team is 50-strong, in New York and LA were in start-up mode and our American story is just beginning.


Our US client base is growing quickly and were looking for a Account Executive to join the team.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the role requires enthusiasm, cultural awareness and experience of a SaaS style sales offer.

A natural relationship builder, you'll be connecting with prospects across communications agencies, media owners and brands. Youll have a smart and consultative sales approach - understanding client challenges, identifying solutions and presenting face-to-face and remotely.

And as we continue to grow globally, there will be opportunities to learn, travel, expand your contacts, and sharpen your sales approach.

While primarily a SaaS style offer, as you develop a deeper knowledge of our consulting projects, give you the tools to build a successful and rewarding career with significant earning potential.

Proactively finding new opportunities across your targets

Generating leads, building and managing your sales pipeline

Face-to-face and remote presentations to prospects

Managing the end-to-end sales process from pitch to trial to close

A curious mindset to uncover consultancy briefs

Desire to learn the full consultative sales cycle

Writing proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals

Collaborative working style alongside both US and UK teams


Youll be curious, culturally savvy, and commercially minded with an aptitude for hitting targets and a mindset to exceed them. Youll have around 3-5 years of business development experience, ideally with a subscription-based product, and a solid track record of winning new business. A strategic thinker, youll be able to identify prospects pain points and be able to provide solutions through our services.

A people person, youll thrive in finding new opportunities, generating leads, and building your sales pipeline. Youll enjoy becoming an expert on the full range of our product offering and be happy sharing best practice with colleagues in the US or in the UK. This role would suit a self-starter, someone who has an innovative approach to generating new business and the resilience to overcome setbacks along the way.

Youll have a naturally curious mind, always looking to understand what makes people tick from why Gen Zers are drinking CBD tea to how established brands can connect with younger audiences. Youll be excited to use this knowledge to curate killer insights to showcase our expertise and support our clients strategic thinking. Finally, youll have a great eye for detail and believe that streamlined processes and great organization lead to success.


You will join at a key moment for Canvas8 as we continue to expand our operation in the U.S. You will be instrumental in the international expansion not just in the east coast but also across the APAC region as we continue to grow across all regions despite the economic impacts across 2020!!


  • Great presentation/pitching ability
  • Experience of selling a membership, subscription service, AdTech, or SaaS-style product
  • Able to devise and execute a sales plan
  • Confident and adept negotiator

  • Knowledge of the media and communications industries
  • An understanding of market research, consumer insights, and business intelligence is a bonus
  • The ideal candidate could have 3-5 years B2B Sales experience
