Position Title: Program Coordinator-FROST/FARL Department: Sociology/Anthropology Term of Assignment: Continuing Term End Date, If Applicable: FLSA Status: Non-Exempt = overtime eligible Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. Salary: Targeted salary range: $39,600-$42,500 Travel: Less than 10% Brief Statement of Duties Brief Statement of Duties: Responsible for coordinating workshops and other educational programs for professionals, students, and the community. Coordinate the day-to-day functions and serve as a point-of-contact for the NMU Donation Program. Assist the FROST/FARL Director with laboratory and office administration, possibly including grant management. Due to the nature of work at FROST and the Forensic Anthropology Research Laboratory (FARL), this position may involve exposure to human remains and/or other biohazardous material. Minimum Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Discipline / Degree Area: Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Required Minimum Work Experience: One year of relevant professional experience.
One year of experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
Coordination or management experience.
Computer information systems experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong work ethic.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to use independent judgment.
Ability to maintain high ethical standards in decision making.
Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities with team involvement.
Ability to interpret and maintain current knowledge of existing and emerging laws, statutes, policies, procedures and standards as they apply to body donation, human subjects research, animal subjects research, continuing education, and/or new and existing educational programs.
Ability to accurately and efficiently perform required computerized tasks to include word processing, database maintenance, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet or web-based applications.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation. Additional Desirable Qualifications Additional Desirable Qualifications: Skills in accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Knowledge of willed body program and/or funeral director responsibilities.
Experience with database creation and management.
Ability to comfortably speak with people about end-of-life planning and/or health-related topics.
Comfortable interacting with members of the law enforcement community and other professionals working within investigative and/or forensic science fields.
