Position Description
Title: UX Research Assistant
Project Overview:
We are a research and product team in the AI Research group. We humanize our advanced R&D programs by connecting real human needs with emerging technologies and turning them into useful, usable, and delightful products. We are looking to hire a UX Research Assistant (UXRA) for a 12 month contract from January 2022. You'll work in close partnership with our UX researchers and with team members from other disciplines like design, UX engineering, and program management.
Overall Responsibilities:
Day to day activities will include supporting UX researchers in the collection and analysis of user data for foundational and evaluative research.
While initially you will work fully remote, once our offices reopen (planned for January 2022) the expectation will be 3 days/week in person. You may also be occasionally asked to conduct research in other places, and you'll collaborate with team members in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, and London.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Conduct foundational research and literature reviews to examine assumptions and lay the groundwork for new products. Plan, observe, and moderate concept testing sessions, interviews, and diary studies Coordinate user study logistics (collaborate with participant recruiters, schedule interviews and lab sessions, distribute incentives). Analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data. Synthesize insights and create research reports. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory
Education:
B.A./B.S. (completed) or M.A/M.S./M.Des./Ph.D. in Human Factors, HCI, Design, Product Development, Psychology, Anthropology, Linguistics, Computer Science, Social Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Total years experience in what industry, discipline or responsibility :
4+ years of relevant work experience, including integrating user research into product design-e.g., in applied industry or in an innovation/design/product development consultancy (e.g., IDEO, Fjord, frog); particularly relevant prior job titles include UX Researcher or Design Researcher.
Skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for role :
Experience with a range of qualitative research methods and analysis techniques. Ability to translate research findings into actionable, persuasive insights for the product team. Experience crafting and communicating research findings through appropriate means Detail-oriented; ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks. Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule. Specific Tools or Applications experience: Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. Experience with SPSS and other statistics packages preferred/nice to have. Certification or license: N/a Desired
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Graduate degree in Human Factors, HCI, Design, Product Development, Psychology, Computer Science, Anthropology, Linguistics, Social Science, or other fields emphasizing human behavior. User-centered Design Strategist. User-centered Product Innovator. Design consultant Experience conducting UX research cross-culturally and/or in emerging markets. Prior experience as a contractor is helpful. This particular client is requiring that all new hires show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
