Key responsibilities
  • Manage large and medium-sized qualitative research studies (including, but not limited to, writing discussion guides, running consumer workshops or ethnographies, moderating (online / offline), visual analysis, building compelling insights) Manage large and medium-sized qualitative research studies (including, but not limited to, writing discussion guides, running consumer workshops or ethnographies, moderating (online / offline), visual analysis, building compelling insights) for large scale clients such as Facebook, Coca-Cola, Shell, HSBC and more.
  • Oversee all aspects of these projects: from project design, client management, fieldwork, analysis, storytelling and delivery
  • Within projects, work with the quantitative team to integrate quant findings with qual insights
  • Help manage, inspire and grow the existing NYC qual team
  • Help continue to develop our existing client relationships, and build new relationships
  • Work with the team to create PowerPoint deck storylines for client, internal, and new business projects that drive consumer, cultural and brand understanding
  • Oversee our qualitative fieldwork partner relationships
  • Attend and contribute to all internal team meetings and brainstorms
  • Attend client meetings, and help respond to client questions and requests when needed
  • Keep abreast of the newest findings on human decision-making, and ensure behavioral science theory is consistently applied to all our clients' work

Skills and experience you'll need
  • Undergraduate degree (ideally in the behavioral sciences such as psychology, neuroscience), Masters welcomed
  • Minimum 6 years years experience of qualitative research projects at an agency
  • First class moderating skills (must have experience of moderating including viewed groups in front of senior clients)
  • Experienced in using qualitative & quantitative research for brand, innovation and communication projects
  • Experienced in project design, analysis and insight generation
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent client handling skills, particularly in driving the client and projects (having the ability to influence in a collaborative way)
  • Ability to craft a story using multiple sources and types of research
  • High attention to detail without sacrificing the big picture
  • Ability to work across multiple projects while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to contribute in analysis sessions to produce outstanding deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a collaborative, constructive outlook
  • Interest in one or more of the following fields: Consumer Behavior, Brand Strategy, Behavioral Science, Behavioral Economics, Social Psychology, Evolutionary Psychology, Applied/Experimental Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology, Anthropology
