Overview:

Ogilvy's Research & Intelligence (R&I) team is seeking a junior research professional to fill the Research Analyst role. Our ideal candidate has approximately one to three years of experience with client relations, project management skills, is extremely detail oriented, and committed to high level of quality with the ability to play a primary, independent implementation role in our research work.

The Research Analyst will focus on supporting both the secondary and primary research sides of the business. They will have a basic understanding of primary research (e.g., qualitative and quantitative methodologies such as online surveys, in-person/online focus groups, in-depth interviews, etc.) as well as searching, analyzing, and summarizing secondary research sources (e.g., syndicated data, industry reports, news articles, social media posts, etc.). The Research Analyst will collaborate with multiple members of the R&I team as well as account and client teams at the junior levels.

Responsibilities:

Understands appropriate research techniques for strategy, creative, content development, and media needs

Understands the implications of business strategy on project decisions

Collaborates with internal Ogilvy teams and external vendor and client teams to develop recommendations/execute research initiatives

Implements quality control checks for documents along the research process (e.g., review of documents for accuracy/data checking, grammar, addressing key research questions/objectives, etc.)

Coordinates development of comprehensive advertising/marketing/strategic analyses

Knows when to escalate potential problems

Acts as key collaborator with junior members of the account, analytics, client, creative, and strategy teams

Aids in the financial management of projects

Cost estimates/request for vendor POs

Ensuring vendor paper work and invoicing is up to date

Track OOP spends and hours against projects

Monitors critical project hand-offs

Responsible for weekly/monthly project status reports

Ensuring deliverable/deadline calendar is up to date

Sets up meetings, includes the correct people and provides accurate agendas and precise, actionable meeting notes

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (marketing, social sciences like sociology, psychology, anthropology, etc.)

1 to 3 years related experience with established track record including experience working autonomously

Experience with secondary research sources (e.g., Simmons, Euromonitor, Factiva, etc.) is also an added plus but not necessary

Strong project management skills

Analytical skills with the ability to distill information into digestible concepts

Multi-tasker to manage multiple projects at any given time

Experience presenting information both verbally and in writing

Solid business writing skills

Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Keynote
