Position description
The purpose of the Program Director position is to help expand the diversity of learners in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science by recruiting and retaining a diverse population of students. The Program Director will provide leadership, subject matter expertise and support to internal MCCMS learners and prospective external learners. The Program Director works across the Enterprise, across all learner populations, and leads a variety of pathway programs for K-16 students and learners and staff across the continuum of medical and biomedical education. The Program Director will utilize creative methods and formats to align with the OEDEI and MCCMS strategic plans. The Program Director will participate in identifying and designing processes and procedures to monitor measures and assess all programs through standardized evaluations. Working closely with Public Affairs, the Program Director will help coordinate print and digital media to promote new and existing pathway programming. The Program Director will develop internal and external strategic partnerships and provide appropriate consultation on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues including but not limited to orientation presentations, learning listening sessions, educational programs, and other activities and events in support of OEDEI strategies and goals.
Local and national travel expected throughout the year for recruitment and retention activities. This role is primarily remote (80% minimum) with onsite work required for pathway programming and meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Education, Public Affairs, Human Resources, Public Health, Anthropology or other related field. Masters degree highly preferred. Demonstrates a high level of knowledge and experience with diversity, equity and inclusion issues, challenges, and initiatives. Demonstrated commitment and professional experience fostering awareness and appreciation for diversity, equity and inclusion. Professional experience developing and managing programs (workshops, pathway programming, orientations) for Latino, African American and Native American students. Experience with recruitment and retention strategies with the targeted populations. Experience in education administration, public service, public health, student development, counseling, human resources or an equivalent combination. Must have ability to handle heavy communication and correspondences, multitask large scale projects simultaneously, and complete deadlines in a timely manner. Required experience in program development and planning. Knowledge of Windows software including databases and spreadsheets, comfort with online platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams, and evaluation knowledge highly preferred. Excellent organizational as well as oral and written communication skills.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,518.40, based on a full-time position.
