Founded in 2001, FreshForm is a leading boutique Experience Design and Innovation Consultancy based in San Diego, California. FreshForm is looking for an Experience Design Researcher with a human-centered design background to deliver results for cross-industry clients by conducting hands-on user research for products, services and experiences. The right candidate will bring qualitative methods, enterprise research expertise, and a broad acumen to deliver exceptional outcomes to our impressive list of clients.

Our clients rely on us to help solve their most complex problems from driving digital and cultural transformations to building lovable products and services. The role of FreshForm's Experience Design Researcher plans, facilitates, and synthesizes user and customer research, through close collaboration with senior leaders, business analysts, product managers, designers, and engineers.

We are looking for a person who is a natural at managing ambiguity, working with purpose, and always elevating the voice of the customers. At the end of the day, fulfillment comes in the form of actionable insights that deliver proven business results. This role has an opportunity to make a big difference within a small team tackling some significant challenges.

Primary Role and Expectations
  • Plan, manage and collaborate on research qualitative projects from start to finish
  • Understand and utilize methods that are best to answer different client needs and questions
  • Develop research and learning plans
  • Ensure the qualitative work is grounded in a deep and contextual understanding of what matters to the people using the products and services for which were designing
  • Lead design research activities including research planning, fieldwork execution, analysis, synthesis, research storytelling, and deliverables
  • Develop new research methodologies, tools, and/or systems that demonstrate the business value of CX for FreshForm and our clients
  • Present compelling stories of research findings to a variety of stakeholders (business, technical, design) with clear and actionable insights through written, visual and verbal communication


Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience conducting qualitative research in applied research settings; consultancy, agency, or enterprise
  • At least a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in design research or a human behavior related field such as Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology, Anthropology, or similar fields requiring research
  • Comfort with the unknown, moving targets and building a path forward
  • Diverse industry experience, ideally with work product from both B2B and B2C
  • Experience with CX Transformations through journey management program, planning, and execution
  • Proven experience learning and leveraging a variety of online research tools; Dovetail, Otter, UserZoom, UserTesting, Qualtrics, Medallia, Pointillist, etc.

FreshForm is a remote-friendly work environment. However, we will prioritize candidates located in San Diego (or willing to relocate) as we anticipate the demand for on-site research will accelerate in the next 12 months. 100% remote (US only) is an option for a stellar candidate.
