Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) is committed to providing high quality and fully accredited digital and print-based correspondence courses for students whose learning needs are not readily met by traditional on-campus offerings. We take education out of the classroom and deliver it to the student's door. Our Independent Study courses consist of challenging curriculum that enables students to learn at their own pace. The Independent Study program assists a variety of students from those seeking to enhance their professional credentials, to college students seeking to earn extra credits, to those who want to earn a degree through our External Degree Completion Program.

Description of Job

**All responsibilities of faculty members at CSU Pueblo are in accordance with the Faculty Handbook. The Faculty Handbook is the authoritative guide on specific requirements with regard to teaching assignments, scholarly activity, research, and service.

CSU Pueblo, a regional, comprehensive university, is seeking adjunct instructors in the areas of Accounting, Anthropology, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, Chicano Studies, Criminology, Economics, Entrepreneurship, History, International Business, Marketing, Music, Psychology, Sociology and Women's Studies to participate in credit bearing, print-based, correspondence distance education program. Correspondence to and from staff and students will occur by phone, email, postal mail, and Blackboard. Program consists of year-long open-enrollment in both digital and print-based formats therefore candidates must be well organized. Incumbent must be flexible with means of communication and course delivery with students. Communication with students and staff to provide course material feedback, graded of course materials, and final grades must occur in a timely manner utilizing university email as the primary means of communication. Compensation is paid at the rate of $70 per student per credit hour at the end of each enrollment period.

Primary Duties

+ Provide instructional guidance to students in digital (Blackboard) and print-based formats, adhering to provided course syllabus guidelines. Communicate with students and third party sponsors to provide clarification on course content and materials.

+ Provide timely coursework feedback to students and program staff utilizing University email as the primary means of communication.

+ Ensure that course materials are up-to-date and complete. Communicate immediately with Instructional Designer and program staff when errors are found.

+ Keep up-to-date gradebooks and provide final grades per indicated deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications

+ Master's degree in instructional area.

+ Experience teaching in correspondence/distance/remote education formats.

+ Experience working with diverse student populations, including incarcerated students.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Terminal degree in instructional area.

+ Course development for correspondence/distance/remote education formats.
