Mulberry Talent Partner has joined with our client, an archaeology firm in Portland, OR, to identify a Supervising Archaeologist to join their team. They are looking for an experienced archaeologist to lead field investigations throughout the region, including Oregon, Washington, and neighboring states. Although the positions would be based in our Portland, Oregon, office, we support and encourage remote working to fight the spread of Covid-19.

Your Role:

Due to an outpouring of demand for their services and recent promotions, our client is seeking to hire a qualified candidate to fill the position of Supervising. This position includes a supervisory role for field investigations and authorship of summary reports.It can offer candidates the opportunity to engage in aspects of project management, including client coordination, scoping, and budgeting.The position presents a valuable opportunity for career growth, as you will be mentored by an Assistant Project Manager who has unsurpassed knowledge of archaeology and the business of cultural resource consulting in the Pacific Northwest.

Successful candidates will also have the ability to collaborate and work with other staff to prepare professional reports.This position requires working cooperatively with managers, technical staff, and administrative staff.

You Bring:
  • Three to five years of prior archaeological experience
  • M.A., M.S., or higher degree in anthropology or closely related field
  • Professionally qualified in archaeology per the Secretary of the Interiors Standards and Guidelines
  • Can obtain archaeology permits issued by Oregon, Washington, and federal agencies
  • Strong scientific writing skills
  • Demonstrated experience supervising field personnel
  • Familiarity with cultural resource management laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Pacific Northwest archaeology, history, and geography


Hourly Rate Range: $30-$35/hour = $62,400- $72,800 per year plus benefits. Small relocation reimbursement if needed.
