Position Overview

At Mediahub, Communications Planning, or Insights & Action as we call it, is our strategic muscle and a key differentiator. Our litmus test is that its not an insight unless it changes the trajectory of the campaign and if its not media actionable, its not an insight. The Communications Planners thrive on exploring changing consumer behavior, cultural trends, and competitive insights to discover new and innovative solutions. They have an endless curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit.

TheEVP Director, Global Communications Planningwill be a critical member of Mediahubs emerging global leadership team. This person will report directly to both the U.S CEO and EMEA/APAC CEO. They must have global comms experience, new business gravitas and the job is based in New York. The candidate will thrive on exploring changing consumer behavior, cultural trends, and competitive insights to discover new innovative solutions. They will be integral for helping set the strategic vision for Mediahubs global future. Beyond that, their role will have three core responsibilities:

First, this person will oversee two primary teams in the U.S and the UK, with the responsibility of setting the structure and process for how the team works collectively and synergistically. They will act as a leader and mentor to a talented and growing team of around 20 people. Second, they will play a leading role in key new business pitches, while also playing a strategic lead for marquee clients with an emphasis on those that are global. Finally, this person will be responsible for honing and optimizing the methodologies and practices of the Insights & Action team. This includes briefing integral teams, such as our R+D Lab creative media team, while also partnering with analytics and media leadership to determine the appropriate strategic approach to each project. And maybe even more importantly, this person will need to help lead the integration of consumer and audience insights with addressable data across multiple tech platforms, including the IPG Acxiom/Kinesso data and tech platform.

Stated quite simply, we are looking for someone with boundless energy, enthusiasm and is maniacal about helping us continue our meteoric growth.

Responsibilities
  • Create and build out one global communications planning team across the US, UK, and beyond.
  • Identify human insights and cultural trends across multiple marquee clients.
  • Act as the consumer and audience strategy lead in critical new business pitches.
  • Work with the team to identify and develop agency thought leadership pieces.
  • Hone the methodologies and practices for the communications planning team.
  • Act as the primary cultural anthropologist and consumer insights led for Mediahub globally.
  • Work with key leaders to determine how to integrate consumer insights into actionable media addressability especially with the IPGs Acxiom/Kinesso data,tech platform and team.
  • Act as a leader and mentor to a talented and growing group of communications planners.
  • Work with team members and other agency leaders to build out custom Scout surveys (our proprietary database) and help lead the development of the annual Scout baseline survey.
  • Build our profile with challenging and provocative relevant thought leadership and develop a global approach to industry awards.


Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience required; in related field (e.g. comms planning, marketing, consumer research, brand strategy, etc.).
  • Communication: strong written and verbal communication required.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative), ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and close attention to detail.
