Senior Archaeologist
Minimum Requirements:
* Master?s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or closely related field
* 3 years of experience as Principal Investigator in the southeast including background research, field surveys, site identification and eligibility evaluation, and report writing
* Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion
* Excellent analytical and communication skills
* Experience with Georgia Department of Transportation is a plus but not required
* RPA preferred but not required
Technical Requirements:
* Proficiency in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
* Understanding of state and federal laws and regulations as they pertain to archaeology including Section 106 and Georgia Environmental Policy Act
Other miscellaneous qualities:
* Ability to travel 20% of the time
* Must be able to work in physically demanding field conditions

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting all phases of archaeological work including surveys, site evaluations, data recovery, and monitoring
* Identifying and evaluating archaeological sites for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places
* Working with project team to avoid and minimize impacts to archaeological sites
* Performing laboratory analysis
* Completing site forms
* Preparing survey reports and assessment of effects reports for state and federal agencies such as the Georgia Department of Transportation and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
* Preparing Memoranda of Agreement for mitigation of adverse effects
* Coordinating with state/federal agencies and tribal governments as needed
* Working within defined schedules and meeting deadlines
* Maintaining quality standards on all projects assigned
* Participating in project meetings and providing updates
* Assisting other subject matter experts as needed
