SUMMARY:

TheProduct Design Team is seeking a Design Researcher to join us on our mission of transforming users into fans. The Design Researcher is responsible for leading research efforts throughout the entire product design life cycle, including understanding & documenting user needs, validating initial design concepts, and facilitating usability studies to ensure were delivering value while meeting the needs of our target audiences. Design Researchers on our Digital Product Design team collaborate closely with Interaction Designers, UI Designers, Product Managers, and technology partners to define & execute test plans that will enable our product teams to build the right thing and build the thing right.

**FULLY REMOTE RESOURCE- WILL WORK PRIMARILY ON EST

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with interaction designers to develop the research that will inform the creation of user personas and journey maps
  • Conduct a variety of different design research activities based on the needs of the product teams you support (this may include quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, solution validation, usability tests, etc.)
  • Review design standards and perform testing as needed on components built for theour client's design system
  • Work closely with interaction designers and product managers to identify research opportunities, develop research plans, recruit participants, execute the research, and present your findings to a cross-functional team
  • Provide estimates for research initiatives
  • Actively participate in design reviews, critiquing the work of other designers, and collecting feedback on your own work


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MUST HAVE:10+ years of UX research and testing experience
  • Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Human Computer Interaction, Design, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Case studies showcasing specific examples of completed software applications that your research has influenced (major bonus points for telling the story of the user needs, success metrics, and what you learned along the way)
  • MUST HAVE:Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable with modern digital design and prototyping tools including Adobe XD
  • Understanding of modalities, design patterns, and affordances common among digital applications (primarily web + native mobile)
  • Project management skills, e.g. organization, time management, planning, negotiation
  • Youre current with the latest research tools, methods, trends, and technology
  • You have a solid grasp of Design Thinking principles, UI/layout concepts, and how technology influences design & vice versa
  • NICE TO HAVE: Experience working with Agile teams & Lean methodologies
  • NICE TO HAVE: Solid understanding of Android and iOS human interface guideline
  • Experience with creating and managing research repositories Workshop facilitation skills Experience mentoring design interns and junior staff
