Summary:

One of the nation's most respected, high-end environmental consulting firms is actively seeking an ARCHAEOLOGICAL LABORATORY MANAGER for work based out of its Morgantown, WV office location.

Responsibilities:

The position of Archaeological Lab Manager requires analyzing and processing information related to attributes of prehistoric and historic artifacts recovered from field investigations. The candidate will work closely with Principal Investigators in developing data management procedures that meet state repository standards. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Artifact Logging
  • Analysis
  • Database Management
  • Photography
  • Preparation of Artifact Inventories
  • Preparation of Artifacts for Curation

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: The minimum requirements for the Archaeological Laboratory Managers' position are a B.A. in Anthropology/Archaeology or a closely related field and 3 + years of experience in an archaeological laboratory setting. M.A. is preferred with field leadership experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of IBM-compatible computers and Microsoft Windows/Office software applications required, emphasizing M.S. Access. The individual must have ample organizational skills, the ability to manage time-critical situations to fulfill deadline requirements, and a strong ability to work in team situations. Ability to search for pertinent facts and data, analyze and evaluate information, and form accurate conclusions. Have the ability to work on and prioritize various technical assignments and complete work satisfactorily and on schedule.
