UnitedHealth Group (UHG) is expanding our digital insights team and is looking for an experienced product researcher that has the desire to help us broaden our digital research capabilities. You will work directly with product leads, data scientists, strategy teams, marketing teams, and product engineers to uncover key insights into our customer experience. You will build a collaborative culture where you bring your research results to present to a cross-functional think tank across UHG and help to execute improvements based on your findings.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support key strategic research projects for all size initiatives to ensure research is part of everything UHG designs and delivers to its customers
  • Assist Customer Insights, Market Insights, and User Insights teams to conduct thoughtful and representative in-house research
  • Facilitate and manage vendor relationships when research is outsourced
  • Responsible for developing questionnaires, analyzing the data results and creating compelling reports that help product teams determine how to improve the user experience
  • Assist with developing presentations for senior leaders, determine the best way to support and direct our business strategies moving forward
  • Use a variety of analytical methods to ingest and analyze customer data; such as factor analysis, regression analysis, etc.
  • Structure results and recommendations that deliver unique insights, focus on storytelling, and create compelling use cases for change

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in market research or consumer insights
  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research
  • Experience in advanced analytics (e.g., Regression, Factor Analysis etc.)
  • Experience with cleaning, manipulating data
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Social Sciences, Information Science or Computer Science in a related field
  • Demonstrated exposure to and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods; Ethnographic Interviews, Focus Groups, Usability Studies, Attitudinal research, Concept Testing, Conjoint, MaxDiff, etc.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams at large organizations
  • Demonstrated collaboration/strong communication skills that bring together a cross-functional group of individuals
  • Organized, self-directed and efficient when managing project
  • Superior creativity and passion for user research and design

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
