RealityCheck is more than a full-service market research firm. We're a team of experienced insight strategists, technological innovators, conceptual analysts and storytellers. We're looking for a Consumer Insight Strategist to join our team!

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic people-person who is creative, confident and looking to grow. They are curious, extroverted and open - the kind of person who can engage, enliven and positively impact others. They are warm, empathetic and able to connect with people quickly.

An excellent writer and storyteller, they are able to express complex ideas in clear, compelling narratives. They are comfortable in front of a room full of people.

The ideal strategist is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. They are focused and detail-oriented. They are collaborative and ready to listen, learn and contribute. They are naturally curious and able to apply varied knowledge and experiences to the work.

Responsibilities

This is an entry-level position. The responsibilities of the strategist include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist senior strategists in designing and executing consumer research to meet client needs.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including face-to-face and online interviewing and moderating, initially under the direction of senior strategists.
  • Conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Draw insights and conceptual themes from data.
  • Express insights and conceptual themes in clear, compelling stories.
  • Make clear in-person presentations.


  • Specifications

    Required
    • 4-year degree
    • At least one professional internship in a relevant field (such as Advertising Account Planning, Market Research, Consumer Insights, Marketing, Brand Management)
    • Excellent writing skills (Must provide samples)
    • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and a video editing software platform (such as iMovie, Premiere Pro or Final Cut)


    Preferred
    • Fields of study: Marketing, Advertising, Integrated Communications, Communications, Journalism, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology
    • Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative fieldwork, analysis and reporting (such as conducting interviews, moderating focus groups, writing questionnaires, analyzing data)
    • Experience using data-analysis and data-visualization software platforms
    • Multiple internships in relevant fields
    • Open to being based in the Chicago area


    RealityCheck is a virtual company with no central office. Team members work remotely from around the country and internationally. However, we are in the process of building a central team in the Chicago area.
