About the Position:

MLCV is looking for a leader full time qualitative researcher in our Customer Insights team to examine guest experience in our facilities. This position will focus on the design, development, and deployment of key consumer research projects supporting MLCV's portfolio of businesses. This position also provides rich opportunities for substantive and methodological learning through data collection, analysis, and writing research reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Help guide consumer research studies for all MLCV's business ventures
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate business questions into a study design to address corporate needs
  • Responsible for defining business objectives, designing research projects, and delivering actionable recommendations
  • Participate in short term and long-term strategic planning for consumer research initiatives across businesses
  • Represent the research projects and help to recruit human subjects ethically
  • Maintain all required trainings and certification for participation as a part of the human subjects research study team and safeguard the confidentiality of all participants and study data
  • Qualitative data collection, scheduling and organizing qualitative interviews and focus groups, development of data collection tools (e.g., interview guides, measurement models), and conducting surveys, qualitative interviews, focus groups, or participant observation
  • Data cleaning and management in R, Python or any other software
  • Lead qualitative analysis, including multiple case study, thematic or hybrid analytic strategies
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with the customer research team
  • Use file sharing platforms including OneDrive/SharePoint for collaborative work
  • Experience in deploying surveys in survey tools like Qualtrics
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks and take primary responsibility for asking questions and/or requesting any needed assistance to complete assigned tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in the social sciences field like sociology, anthropology, social work, educational sciences, or any related field. A graduate degree in a relevant field is a plus
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with consumer or related research, experience with hospitality industry preferred
  • Must be able to design, structure and manage qualitative research
  • Must thrive in a lean and fast-paced environment. Be willing and happy to get your hands dirty and own all stages of research
  • Effective communication and report writing skills

  • Our Consumer Insights team is a small group of talented Data Science and I.T. professionals with a passion for building and supporting data driven decision making. We believe in collaboration and working independently on a variety of critical business issues
  • You will be based at our St Paul, MN office but have the opportunity to work from a variety of our business partner locations as well as remotely from home


Special Qualifications:
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process
  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority
  • Must follow and enforce all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
