Job Description:

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking mixed-methods researcher with general qualitative and quantitative skills, a tenacity and curiosity to dive deeper and understand the "whys" behind the "whats", a storyteller who can connect the dots and see the big picture, and an open-mind to collaborate and build on ideas and frameworks that are outside of their comfort zone.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the ideation of new research topics based on external trend analysis, internal data analytics, and future market projections

• Lead the planning and execution of commissioned research studies, including vendor management, logistical coordination, survey design, synthesis, and reporting

• Synthesize and analyze trend research data from a wide variety of sources, tell a meaningful story, and draw impactful strategic long-term and tactical near-term conclusions

• Become a trusted ideation partner for cross-functional foresight research, editorial, and marketing teams

• Provide ad-hoc research support

Minimum qualifications:

• Familiarity with foresight methodologies, including horizon scanning, trend analysis, forecasting, modeling, and/or futuring

• Meaningful knowledge of broad quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, such as survey design, data analysis, user interviews, diary studies, and ethnography

• Storytelling with the ability to logically connect complex or unrelated ideas

• Understanding of human and cultural values and how these values impact behaviors

• Natural curiosity with detective-like research instincts

• Cross-collaboration communication skills

• Ability to thrive in ambiguity

• Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of related work experience

Preferred qualifications:

• Social science degree, such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, humanities

• Systems thinker or expertise in design thinking processes

• Experience with strategy development, foresight, and primary research

• Experience with technology product business or other large, forward-looking organizations

• Knowledge of digital advertising and marketing industry
