Responsibilities:

This is a full-time, 15-month post-doctoral fellowship position.

The candidate will support the Principal Investigator, Megan Cahn, PhD, MPH, on system-wide social determinants of health (SDOH) research and program evaluation projects.

These projects will relate to system efforts to collect SDOH data and refer patients for services, food insecurity programming, and training in SDOH for internal medicine residents and faculty.

The fellow will conduct literature reviews, provide project management support, participate in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analyze data, and assist with manuscript and presentation preparation.

In addition to the mentorship provided by the PI, the fellow will receive training and mentorship through an Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Learning and Action Network (LAN). The fellow will work closely with healthcare providers and leaders from across the Legacy Health system and will gain valuable training as an embedded health services researcher. Funds will be available to the fellow for conference travel.

A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow is an MD or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellows may provide clinical and/or scientific services, according to their level of responsibility, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator with the common goal of accelerating the development of new technologies and treatments in assigned area.

Qualifications:

Education: MD or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline. At a minimum the individual must have documentation they have completed all of the course work, research, and thesis preparation and acceptance necessary to receive their degree. This recognizes that granting institutions (universities) only present degrees on a periodic schedule.

Qualifications:

Training in public health, anthropology, sociology, or related field

Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, training, or experience in program evaluation and qualitative research methods

Knowledge of social determinants of health frameworks and interventions

Skills: Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently.
