Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Computer Science, Information Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
20 years of professional experience or 18 years with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:Experience working collaboratively with designers, product managers, and engineers
Experience in leading insights-driven design organizations.Horizontal leadership and diplomacy experience.Insights and user research expertise and acumen.Keen interest in policy, compliance, user privacy and security and trust.
About the job In this role, you will be a Senior Director for the Consumer organization leading Trust User Experience (UX) across several of our core Consumer experiences including, Search, Assistant, Geo, and others, towards our goal of providing the most trusted experience for our users. Trust UX helps set the strategy for privacy and security, personalization, information quality and literacy, kids and families, and product inclusion. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading a team to drive user research and human-centered design in delivering experiences that promote user transparency and agency, and both proactively and responsively ensuring Google's compliance with the ever-shifting landscape of global policy and regulations.User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people love. We strive to learn and understand our users' needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our UX teams include designers, researchers, content strategists, and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products' unique capabilities and personalities. Our work touches billions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to Google's philosophy: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Responsibilities Define and lead design and research initiatives and a multi-year roadmap, balancing short and long-term investments in support of user trust across Google's core consumer products and services.
Sustain and cultivate relationships with our partner functions and organizations across Google to identify opportunities, synthesize and socialize insights, and develop long-term strategies in support of coherent trust models and user journeys.Lead and develop a growing UX team of user researchers and designers.Lead the team in innovating and executing thorough research that thinks creatively across product boundaries, bringing the perspective of the advertiser/user/customer into every product conversation. Foster Google's culture and product quality principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional excellence.
