Provide overall care, preservation, maintenance, documentation and access for Cherokee Nation's art and artifact collection.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory/management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in resource management, anthropology, Cherokee studies, or other related field and 3 to 5 years of experience working directly with Cherokee history, culture, and/or heritage projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work may be performed in a variety of settings, including climate-controlled office settings and casino floors which may include exposure to second-hand smoke and crowd noise. Work may require lifting and carrying materials up to 50lbs. Work includes varied shifts, including weekend and holiday shifts as needed. May require travel, including overnight stays.

- Assists with the selection and acquisition of cultural collections
- Coordinates art and artifact loan documents
- Conducts research and records origin and historical significance of art and artifacts
- Maintains accessible and retrievable database of cultural collections
- Maintains proper storage, handling, physical care and cleaning of art and artifacts.
- Coordinates and tracks locations of displayed cultural collections
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of art and artifacts.
- Ability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
