Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technician (Temporary)

Michael Baker International is seeking to hire Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technicians, based out of the Moon Township Office (Pittsburgh, PA), to assist with collections processing, analyses, and curation activities.

Work is immediate. Only serious and qualified candidates will be considered.

This is NOT a per diem job; travel and lodging is not included. Hourly rate $25.00.

This is a temporary position with the possibility of additional work if project demands warrant.

What does an Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technician at Michael Baker International do?

Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technicians are responsible for assisting in the processing and identification of prehistoric and historic artifacts; faunal remains, and/or other ecofacts recovered during Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III archaeological field investigations. Additionally, technicians will assist with final curation activities, as warranted, under the guidance of senior staff.

Could you be the Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technician we are looking for?

• Archaeology Laboratory & Curatorial Technician Candidates will be classified as Cultural Resources Associates.
• Candidates should possess a degree (B.A. minimally, M.A. preferred), in Anthropology (Archaeology), Cultural Resource Management, History, Material Culture Studies, or closely related field.
• Preference is given to those candidates with a demonstrated knowledge (5 or more years) in the analysis and/or study of Colonial through 20th century American material culture recovered from archaeological contexts.
