Position Overview

The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences is hiring an Adjunct Assistant Professor/Associate Program Director for its Master's program in Criminal Justice Data Analytics. The candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in criminology, anticipated to include 2 sections/year of a practicum course. The position begins in August 2021.

The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences offers undergraduate majors in Anthropology, Criminology and Law Studies, Sociology, and Social Welfare and Justice, and a graduate program in Criminal Justice Data Analytics ( CJDA ). Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants should be prepared to contribute to undergraduate and graduate coursework.
The teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for
courses and sections they are teaching, including course and syllabus preparation,
grading exams, and other assignments. As Associate Director of the CJDA program, the
candidate will also have leadership, administrative and service obligations (e.g., recruiting, advising, serve on the CJDA Executive Committee). The candidate will also have opportunities to help develop coursework, adjust the CJDA curriculum, and shape the future direction of the
program.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

At least an MS/MA degree with 3-5 years teaching or professional experience working in crime/data analytics.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master's or Ph.D. in Criminal Justice/Data Science or related field. Demonstrated experience in leadership positions and program development.
