Job Details

The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Fairfield University invites applications for a one-year, full time visiting assistant professor position starting in Fall 2021. Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D., or an M.A. and be ABD, in Anthropology with a specialization in epidemiology and race. The position would include teaching Anthropology Research Methods, Biological/Biomedical Anthropology and Global Public Health courses. Scholars with additional expertise in sex, gender, and sexual orientation will be given priority consideration. Applicants must have a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching experience is preferred. The teaching load is four undergraduate courses each semester. The salary and benefits for the position are highly competitive.

The Sociology and Anthropology department consists of seven full-time faculty members and one professor of the practice representing a range of specialties in Anthropology, Sociology and related programs at Fairfield University, including International Studies, Environmental Studies, Educational Studies, Humanitarian Action, American Studies, Black Studies, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and the Master’s Program in Applied Data Science.
