Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who is passionate about data driven research methodologies and knowledgeable in the design process. As a Design Researcher, you will be responsible to lead research projects by defining project objectives, timelines, and deliverables to ensure innovative insights that support our clients' unique organizational and business challenges. We are flexible and will tailor this position for the most qualified candidate.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, alongside exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt research concepts and theories across all practice groups and influence change through informed design
  • Ability to identify potential research topics, develop new techniques and technologies for data collection, effectively interpret and disseminate findings, and apply conclusions to current design projects
  • Develop and issue survey tools, extract data reports
  • Translate complex data into clear and concise graphics
  • Lead pre-and post-occupancy evaluations to support various research interests of the practice groups and clients
  • Evaluate published research, distill themes, synthesize findings with accessible summaries and key data points
  • Effectively conduct observational research at client facilities
  • Analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to identify corollaries
  • Prepare abstracts and manuscripts for conference presentations and publications
  • Present research concepts internally, to clients, and at national conferences
  • Ability to be nimble, work across several different projects concurrently
  • Effective team-orientated collaborator with a creative and analytical approach
  • Curious problem-solver with a proven track record of applying insights and delivering results
  • Self-starter, self-accountable, and action-orientated


Required Experience
  • Graduate level education in Architecture, Interior Design, or other related design fields with an emphasis in environmental design research
  • Experience leading and conducting research studies
  • Proficiency with Qualtrics and Microsoft products such as Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC)
  • Ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis with R, PowerBI, or SPSS
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Bachelor' s degree in a related field such as sociology, human factors, anthropology, or cognitive psychology
