Assistant Professor-Cultural Anthropology-Migration, Movement, Resettlement

The Anthropology Department in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of cultural anthropology. We are looking for expertise in migration, movement, and resettlement; citizenship and urban environment; and language, culture, and society. Annual teaching load will include an introductory cultural anthropology class. We are especially excited about someone who works on migration, movement, and citizenship, and envision this individual as potentially offering courses for the Maxwell School’s International Relations programs as well as the MAX 132 Course. Area focus is open.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to research as well as to undergraduate and graduate education. The Maxwell School especially seeks candidates open to collaboration and an interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach two courses per semester maintain an active research program and serve on departmental and other committees. Ph.D. in Anthropology is expected at time of appointment.
