Avalere Health is seeking an Associate Principal to join its Center for Healthcare Transformation. This team of experts works to enable next-generation healthcare delivery through quality, innovation, and payment reform. We work with every sector of the healthcare industry to help them prepare for - and succeed in - the evolving payment and delivery system. This role will be client facing and include opportunities for project management and execution. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability both to secure funding for new consulting engagements and execute on it.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and secure business around care innovation and delivery within the life sciences and other healthcare business sectors
Leverage internal and external data sets to grow business in quality and value de novo to address complex healthcare challenges
Translate emerging and current evidence on interventions resulting in improved healthcare quality into practice by developing educational materials, quality measure concepts, quality improvement tools, and/or strategic engagement plans to support quality improvement efforts
Manage a portfolio of clients to ensure that Avalere's knowledge and expertise are available to meet client needs
Conceptualize the scope of projects for clients, assembling a cross-functional team, and oversee the team from project initiation through to client delivery
Serve as a subject matter expert on quality and value issues impacting the pharmaceutical, biotech, health plan, provider, and patient advocacy group arenas
Stay engaged on larger healthcare trends, anticipate the needs of clients based on these trends, and think strategically about how these trends will impact the larger healthcare industry
Create strategic and tactical recommendations to ensure optimal positioning for client products
Solve complex client issues in a timely and appropriate manner with minimal management oversight and attention to resources
Direct project engagement, oversee development and quality of deliverables, ensure project completion on time and on budget
Mentor, supervise, and train staff members within the Practice and across the firm
Establish a national presence through demonstrated thought leadership to generate public recognition for Avalere that results in new business and revenue generation
Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures and mission statement;
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company;

Skills, Experience, and Other Job-Related Requirements:

Skill Requirements:

Business development with new and existing clients around quality and value with a focus on care transformation, shared decision making, evidence generation, health equity, social determinants, etc.
Lead and design analysis using qualitative and/or quantitative research
Lead the analysis of secondary research data, monitoring data, or client
Experience in adaptive implementation, human centered design, or developmental evaluation
Demonstrated success in analyzing and synthesizing information to draw accurate, logical, and actionable conclusions
Oversee literature reviews and quantitative research efforts
Lead the production of technical briefs, peer review publications, insights
Demonstrated success in gathering primary and secondary research through a range of research methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong facilitation skills with multidisciplinary groups
Ability to work independently
Lead or support the development of protocols for submission to Research Ethics Boards or Internal Review Board preferred

Experience Requirements:

Masters Degree or PhD in relevant field (e.g., implementation science, public health, anthropology, sociology, demography, epidemiology, behavioral science) preferred
7-10 years of healthcare consulting preferred
5+ years of demonstrated experience in business development and managing large-scale projects and healthcare policy
5+ years of experience managing a team
