We are actively seeking a full-time Research Associate to join the Murphy Research team. In this role, you will assist in the development, execution, and analysis of projects for a diverse range of Fortune 500 companies. All of our researchers work across industries on diverse projects with clients like, Gatorade, Nespresso, Visa, Twitter, Facebook, and Waymo. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your research career as you support some of the world's most prominent brands with market assessment, brand strategy, product development, customer loyalty and engagement, and communications research.
About You:
  • You have a B.A. or M.A. in related field (psychology, anthropology, sociology, preferred); you're familiar with research methods from coursework, internship, or work experience
  • You possess an ambitious curiosity and are self-motivated to take initiative
  • You love teamwork, but you're great at prioritizing and managing multiple projects while you work independently
  • You maintain high expectations for quality work that delights the clients you serve, and you thrive when challenged by new opportunities
  • Your communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are points of strength
What You'll Be Doing:
  • You will collaborate with a team of researchers to execute study progress against deadlines
  • You will write simple questionnaires, manage vendor relationships, oversee data collection, address quality control issues with online programs, data tables, reports, and develop report charts
  • With strong support from senior leadership, you'll receive on-the-job training in project management, data processing, questionnaire design, report writing, and research methodology
  • You will work with large data sets, so an eye for details is key; your proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint will definitely come in handy! (bonus points for skills in SPSS, R, InDesign, Keynote)
  • In a fast-paced environment, you will utilize strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, and do new things every day!

Since March 2020, Murphy Research has supported its employees in working 100% remotely to protect the health and safety of the team during the COVID-19 Pandemic. For now, all positions will continue to work remotely, but we hope this hire will report in-person to our Santa Monica office when it reopens and only when it is safe to do so.
