We are seeking a Sr. UX Researcher for a 3 month contract role with a leading client in the technology industry. In this role, the Sr. UX Researcher will have the opportunity to aid in unraveling the complexities of personalizing individual reading experiences within a household. They will leverage deep research expertise and applied experience to propose, execute, and deliver impactful research that influences the end-to-end experience. Research will predominantly be generative, with some evaluative work. Strong knowledge of all phases of the product and design development cycle will be critical for this position. The successful candidate will have applied industry experience in a variety of UX research methods and be well versed in best practices. They will have experience with conducting remote research and expertise in best practices pertaining to remote studies. They will work with minimal direction while delivering high-quality research outputs (i.e. research plans, protocols, screeners, insight reports, highlight reels, etc). The successful candidate will be able to identify the best method, or mix of methods, based on research questions, timeline and resourcing. They will have end-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating). They will be able to perform quick but thorough data analysis to create insightful and actionable plans with a willingness to advocate and escalate insights as appropriate. They will inform and help guide design decisions and experiences for devices and applications.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 7+ years of applied industry experience conducting user research
  • Survey design experience
  • Past work experience examples were your research informed decision-making and product strategy
  • Applied experience with a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods; including remote research
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating).
  • Broad knowledge of research methodologies and the proven ability to execute the right methodology to get the needed result.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced software development environment within a highly entrepreneurial organization.
  • Applied research experience with diverse customers of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Applied research experience in non-US markets.
  • MA/MS or PhD in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, or related discipline
