The Director of Experience Strategy and Insight (ESI)* is the local practice lead for the ESI department - a multi-faceted role. projekt202 is organized by regional offices, and you serve on the leadership team of your geography, collaborating with the GM and other practice leads for Experience Design, Technology, and Program Management. Alongside the other practice leads you own the your practice within your geography. You are client-facing and enthusiastically evangelizing your practice's value within the market, your office, and your team. You are empowered to lead, grow, and mentor your delivery team. You inspire them to hone their craft and deliver outstanding client services.
You are a master consultant and craftsperson, well-versed in influencing executive stakeholders and support collaborative pitching and selling with your colleagues. The Director of ESI manages the financial performance of the practice including revenue generation, chargeability of the team, and quality of delivery in your geography.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Represent ESI with the leadership and business development teams in the office to collaboratively pitch, consult, develop, and sell approaches to meet clients' needs with projekt202 services. Build and drive the pipeline of ESI work to build a team and keep them billing.
Own the delivery quality and customer satisfaction for the ESI practice in your office
Attract and retain highly skilled individuals to join the team; partner with recruiting on interviewing and ensure recruiting campaigns are targeted to the right individuals
Grow and develop the team; ensure career paths are understood; delegate well and groom successors
Evolve the practice by identifying innovative ideas/new service offerings to ensure we are responding to the regional market
Deliver repeatable, measurable performance, including meeting revenue goals, for the practice.
Monitor team chargeability and bill rates for the practice to ensure profit margin.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years growing and leading a service delivery or professional services department in research/strategy, having participated directly in at least 5 field research projects
8+ years experience developing strategies from data and and mixed methods, leading qualitative and quantitative data-gathering, and influencing stakeholders through the findings
Outcomes-focused: successful clients make successful practices
Prior consulting experience is preferred
Experienced and comfortable working in a matrixed organization where you win mindshare rather than order it
Adaptively problem-solve in a fast-moving environment
High emotional intelligence
Excellent public speaking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in the domains of agile software development and UX design, service design, innovation, and customer experience are highly valued for this role

Education:

Bachelor and/or Master Degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study (i.e. Business, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Interaction Design, Communications Design, Anthropology, Engineering, etc.)
