Penn Interactive (PI) is an interactive gaming company headquartered in Philadelphia. As the digital arm to Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ: PENN), the largest regional casino operator in the U.S., ), the largest regional casino operator in the U.S., we are poised for fast-paced growth in the sports betting and online casino space and have partnered with Barstool Sports to launch an online sportsbook.

The User Researcher will collaborate with the UX/UI Design, Product, and Marketing teams to define strategies, create research plans, conduct research methods, and synthesize data to inform user insights with actionable recommendations. In this role you will need to be empathetic, with a knack for curiosity about people and their behavior. This role will help improve product definition and drive business goals by finding meaning in data.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teams to create research plans that align with the business goals and timelines.
  • Recruit end-users for user testing.
  • Scope, plan and execute research methods (qualitative, some quantitative) such as card sorting, surveys, moderated and unmoderated interviews, and usability testing with minimal direction.
  • Extract and synthesize data to effectively communicate with and present findings to a variety of audiences.
  • Use research insights to develop personas, journey maps, and process flows, among others.


Requirements:
  • Degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors, Anthropology, a related field or the equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience conducting product User Research and Testing (in-person and remote)
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and consultation skills; can communicate complex research concisely and effectively to product stakeholders.
  • Can work autonomously and prioritize time between various projects.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
  • Help extend our user experience research processes. Champion it amongst the team and help solve UX challenges in a scalable way.
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

  • Experience collaborating with UX/UI Designers.
  • Experience in an Agile software environment.
  • Experience with Market Research methods
  • Background/understanding of ADA/accessibility
