The Company
UPMC Health Plan is among the nation's fastest-growing health plans. It is owned by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), a world-renowned health care provider. As part of an organization rooted in medical excellence, UPMC Health Plan is committed to being a partner in health, financial security, and peace of mind.
We are headquartered in downtown Pittsburgh. Due to the pandemic, the position is temporarily remote with the option to extend remote work on a permanent basis. Fully-remote employees will be required to travel occasionally throughout the year.

Our team exists in the "fuzzy front end" of the innovation process. We are change agents leading business transformation and helping our business partners to embrace innovation.
The Position:
In this role, you will serve as a facilitator, strategist and innovation consultant for our product teams. You'll work with stakeholders to frame up challenges; design, prep and facilitate a variety of workshops, from strategy development and alignment exercises to co-design sessions and week-long design sprints; and turn the results into meaningful strategy and actionable next steps.
On a given day, you might find yourself:
- Helping stakeholders identify, explore and frame business challenges.
- Designing sessions with productive, design-thinking exercises that foster creative thinking, collaborative problem solving and stakeholder alignment.
- Prepping and facilitating engaging workshops that elicit valuable outputs and positive reviews.
- Drawing connections between workshop insights and business goals.
- Applying learnings to influence business strategy and activate change across the business.
- Crafting compelling stories and pitching innovative concepts to leadership.
- Identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Creating a culture of innovation and iterative thinking by exposing colleagues to design thinking.
If you check some of these boxes and you read this with passion, curiosity and a willingness to learn, please apply to this position.
