WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full time Project Archaeologist and Principal Investigator for our Albuquerque, NM office. Duties and Responsibilities: - Acting Principal Investigator on State and Federal permits - Developing and planning field projects - Survey, recordation, and possible excavation of cultural resources in the U.S. Southwest - Report writing and review - Client and agency coordination - Experience with project scoping, budget development, and management is preferred. Job Requirements

> Minimum Qualifications: - Permitted or permittable in New Mexico - Master's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a closely related field - Minimum of 2 years experience in similar work, at crew supervisor, project manager and/or PI level - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies - Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening. - This role may be subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request. " should be included as a basic qualification. Preferred Qualifications - Availability for regular overnight travel for fieldwork. - Permitted or permittable in other Southwestern states. - Knowledge of soils and sediments. - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Supervisory experience leading field projects through completion of reporting. - Experience with GPS technologies and other digital data collection methods.
