Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer and working collaboratively with the Chief Health Equity and Inclusion Officer the Chief Diversity Officer is viewed as the subject matter expert and strategic partner to senior leaders in matters of workforce diversity and inclusion for the organization. This role will be responsible for:
  • Providing vision, leadership and counsel on all matters of diversity initiatives for the workforce, aligning EDI goals with business outcomes
  • Works across the organization to optimize the culture, building awareness, and pursuing change management strategies that enable an atmosphere of mutual respect and dignity for all employees
  • Understands and employs best practices in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion that can bolster diversity within the organization
  • Understands the issues of relevance in the communities we serve through robust external partnerships and support for initiatives and programs
  • Supporting strategic collaboration between departments and executive leadership team
  • Identifying and addressing issues facing specific demographic populations represented in our workforce
  • Developing, managing and supporting data-based equity, diversity and inclusion strategies
  • Understands external changes in policy that may impact the organization and identifies necessary changes within the organization as needed to support those changes
  • Partners closely with employee resource groups and our culture team in developing and deploying new EDI programs and practices

To qualify, you must have:
  • Master 's degree in social justice, ethnic studies, public health, post-secondary education, sociology, social anthropology, public administration, human resource management or related field; doctorate degree preferred
  • 10 years progressive management experience advancing diversity in a complex organization, including 3 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of national best practices and theory regarding organizational diversity, human development, training and change management
  • Proven leadership and aptitude for understanding and addressing affirmative action, equal opportunity regulations and current theories on diversity
  • Ability to work effectively as a valued colleague, strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership in change management, strategic planning and program sustainability
