Your Impact:
Jacobs is looking for a full-time staff archaeologist to work onsite at Eglin AFB. This position involves providing cultural resources management support for planning, engineering, and construction services at Eglin AFB and Hurlburt AFB. The archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA), and state regulations. Work will be conducted under the guidance of senior cultural resources staff.
Based out of our Pensacola, FL office you'll complete both field (as needed)- and office-based assignments. You'll serve as a key team member working with other contractors and Air Force staff, engineers, and project managers to complete the required tasks for Eglin AFB and Hurlburt AFB. You'll conduct archival research and background records reviews. Tasks to be performed will include cultural resource management in compliance with NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA; other applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and related DoD and AF directives (including AFMAN32-7003); and DoD Instruction [DoD] 4710.02). Tasks also include, but are not limited to, performing professional archaeological, historic, architectural, and cultural studies such as contextual studies, installation or structure histories, oral histories, and ethno historical studies; archaeological inventory and evaluation; historic building inventory, evaluation, and documentation; evaluating eligibility of resources for listing in the NRHP and state registers of historic properties; preparing archaeological research designs for testing and data recovery; preparing preservation and/or stabilization plans for archaeological/cultural sites and historic buildings; preparing technical reports for projects that involve cultural resources; archaeological site monitoring and protection; supporting preparation of NAGPRA Plans of Action and Comprehensive Agreements; providing agency and tribal consultation support; review of Federal Undertakings; supporting preparation of updates to, and implementation of, the installation Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP); and performing cultural resources sample or modeling surveys.

Here's What You'll Need:
• Must be able to obtain a US Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC).
• Bachelor's degree Anthropology or Archaeology.
• Meets Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards for Archaeology
• Minimum of one to five years of professional archaeological work experience with a knowledge of construction monitoring and collaborating with tribal monitors
• Knowledge of historic preservation laws and policies, including NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA
• Familiarity with state regulations and cultural resources policies for the southeastern US
• Experience using GPS and GIS technology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be motivated and able to work safely with minimum supervision.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
• Master's Degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.
• Experience working on Air Force Cultural Resources projects and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in Florida
