Immediate needs in the greater San Francisco Bay area, Monterey Bay area, and central coast regions. We are seeking qualified, experienced Archaeological Field Technicians for various archaeological projects throughout California. Immediate needs in the greater San Francisco Bay area, Monterey Bay area, and central coast regions. Duties and Responsibilities
- Archaeological survey, excavation, and monitoring
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
- Current valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a 4wd vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a wide range of archaeological field methods including pedestrian survey, testing/evaluation, and monitoring
- Ability to operate field equipment, including GPS equipment, cameras, and tablets
- Physical ability to carry equipment and supplies (up to 40 lbs.) and walk or hike for long hours during fieldwork
- Understanding and willingness to safely accommodate difficult weather and other environmental conditions and challenges
- Willingness to travel to a project location for several consecutive days
- Completed an accredited field school certification
- Previous archaeological survey experience in California or adjacent areas, and experience recording a variety of site and isolate types in the region
- Knowledge of and experience using ESRI Collector
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to provide and receive feedback
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to resolve conflict through collaboration and communication
