The Senior Experience Designeris responsible for the information architecture, interaction, and visual design for the active traderthinkorswim web and mobile app platforms. This individual is responsible for driving user research and working with senior executives and key business stakeholders to design highly innovative concepts and experiences communicated in the form of wireframes, designs and clickable prototypes that can be tested with end-users and presented internally. This role requires a confident and creative individual with a versatile set of hands-on skills able to collaborate with fellow strategists and technologists on a cooperative agile, agency-like team.
The ideal candidate must show a fearless dedication to truly out-of-the-box thinking validated through user testing. Be willing to take chances boldly cultivating revolutionary, groundbreaking ideas that will delight clients away from the competition while solidifying thinkorswim reputation for being a leader of innovative thinking.
What you are good at
Facilitate brainstorming and sketching exercises for ideation exercises to drive and determine the direction for designs
Have a systematic design approach to responsive web design
Advocate and have institutional knowledge for web accessibility best practices
Lead site & mobile app architecture sessions and framework vision with a cross-functional team
Present design work to business partners from product, content, QA, and technology; explain design choices and address issues and concerns; help partners reach consensus
Proficient in tools like Mural, Invision & Sketch
Drive usability testing and strategic user research.
Participating in collaborative usability testing practices by note-taking, scriptwriting, and moderating
Stay abreast of rapidly changing web and mobile technologies
Use business intelligence to propose and incorporate new and creative ideas into current designs
Stay immersed in thinkorswimactive trader client behaviors and needs by monitoring OpinionLab comments, engaging in relevant Charles Schwab training, and reviewing user research reports
Conduct visual design QA and communicate issues to QA and technology
What you have
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Information Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4-7 years designing mobile transactional products (i.e., e-commerce, banking, etc.) and large-scale consumer websites or applications
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative ideas through the creation of wireframes and low-fidelityprototypes
Self-motivated, client experience-oriented, and a dedicated team player
Extremely detail-oriented, able to define ideas down to a specification level
Present a positive, professional image. Solid leadership and communication skills are required.
Good project management skills; ability to plan, manage, and execute under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment
Drive the project, debate merits of approach, and work effectively with others.
Knowledge of the financial industry and active trading a plus
Experience working in a fast past collaborativeAgilegroup
Online portfolio or samples of recent work (i.e., mockups, prototypes, specifications, guidelines)
Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
