SOSi is seeking a Cultural Advisor supporting our United States Government (USG) customer.

Responsibilities

* Provides regional or audience-specific linguistic, media habit/consumption, and socio-cultural information and advice to inform Information Warfare Task Force - Afghanistan (IWTF-A) operational initiatives.
* Provides specialized knowledge acquired by living in a given region and/or through many years of study. Monitors and maintains knowledge of regional geopolitical events and issues and provides assessment of significant regional events.
* Consults and advises on program strategy, execution and assessment.
* Conducts research using behavioral science principles, methodologies, and technologies in an applied governmental setting.
* Develops research designs, performs literature reviews, collects field data through interviews and focus groups, analyzes existing databases, and conducts statistical or descriptive analyses.
* Describes results of research through briefings and technical reports.

Qualifications

* Active in Scope TS clearance with SCI eligibility.
* Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in area studies, anthropology, history, sociology or related studies; significant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
* 10+ years of experience providing cultural insight and advice.
* Natives of the specified region highly preferred, ILR Level 3 fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto language required.
* Proficient in operating personal computer and Microsoft Office suite.

Working Conditions

* Occasional CONUS and OCONUS travel including hazardous duty locations.
* Willing to live and work in Afghanistan in shared living quarters and function effectively in a region designated as a hazardous duty area.
* Travel outside secure compounds independent of Coalition Forces, as required.
