At Ford Motor Company, we believe freedom of movement drives human progress. We also believe in providing you with the freedom to define and realize your dreams. With our incredible plans for the future of mobility, we have a wide variety of opportunities for you to accelerate your career potential as you help us define tomorrow's transportation.
As the financial engine of Ford, Ford Credit is at the heart of the Ford customer experience. By transforming how we enable customers to own and lease vehicles, we are ultimately transforming the way people access and interact with transportation on a global scale.
What we're looking for:
The Ford Credit design team is seeking an innovative, strategic, and expansive thinker to provide both expertise and inspiration as a User Experience Researcher for our financial suite of products. Our UX Researchers are at the forefront of setting strategic direction for our products and championing the voice of the user throughout our organization. We dive deep with our customers to understand what they really want and need and help our product teams turn those insights into actionable steps. We are an empathetic, inclusive, and curiosity-driven team who serve as close partners with our product team members and fierce advocates for our users.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading high level, strategic research initiatives utilizing innovative research methods and experiments to help drive product direction for the organization
- Partnering with Product Owners, Product Managers, Interaction Designers, and other product team members to understand customer needs and opportunities
- Owning the user research process for your products throughout the product lifecycle, from problem definition and research planning to synthesis and stakeholder buy-in
- Planning, conducting, and facilitating user research sessions such as user interviews, contextual inquiry, co-creation workshops, data analysis, lean experimentation, etc.
- Championing user experience research and design to departments across the company
What you're good at:
- High level strategic thinking and analysis for both early stage concepts and established products
- Ability to thrive in and make sense of highly ambiguous problem spaces
- Ability to think outside the box and be creative to find the best and most suitable ways to get the answers needed for product direction
- Listening, being thoughtful, and having deep compassion and advocacy for the users of your products
- Owning your own work, processes, and direction for the research on your products
- Taking a highly collaborative approach with your partners in the product organization
- Helping coach and guide product teams on the value of user research and design
The minimum requirements we seek:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of experience as a User Researcher or UX Designer
- 4+ years of experience leading user research initiatives for highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams
Our preferred requirements
- Master's, or PhD in user experience, human-computer interaction, sociology, anthropology, psychology, design, or related degree
- 6+ years of experience as a User Researcher or UX Designer
What you'll receive in return:
As part of the Ford family, you'll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more. You'll also experience exciting opportunities for professional and personal growth and recognition.
If you have what it takes to help us redefine the future of mobility, we'd love to have you join us.
