Human and AI Systems Research, also known as HAR, is a team in Intel Labs that is focused on multi-disciplinary research spanning ethnography, UX design, HCI and AI to create Human-AI collaborative systems that can amplify human potential and create sustainable and transparent AI solutions . We utilize multi-modal signals e.g. vision, audio, speech, language , RF and AI to infer and predict human state and actions and enable physically situated dialog and interactions. We conduct this research in the context of vertical domains including manufacturing, education, enterprise, and assistive computing for people with disabilities.
HAR is currently seeking a highly motivated intern in the field of user experience research. We are looking for someone who is curious about the role of AI in people's lives, how AI might drive new types of user experience, as well as potentially create new kinds of challenges for people of all kinds. In terms of skills, we are looking for someone who is able to plan, initiate, and conduct user interviews, conduct participatory design sessions or other forms of creative and generative user engagement, as well as to contribute to prototyping and user testing to refine and hone our ideas and concepts.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a graduate program in design, anthropology or other fields in the social sciences, or disciplines relating to human-computer interaction, with a focus on user studies
- 1+ year experience conducting user research, including ethnographic observation or interviews, user testing, and/or participatory design
- 1+ year experience with common prototyping tools such as Figma, InVision, or Adobe
