Job Details
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology (http://socanth.olemiss.edu) and the Croft Institute for International Studies (www.croft.olemiss.edu) at the University of Mississippi invite applications for the position of a Croft Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Korean Studies. This is a one-year, temporary position beginning August 2021. We are seeking an anthropologist with a focus on contemporary Korea. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory and thematic courses for Anthropology and International Studies as well as upper-level courses with a focus on Korea. Candidates should have an active program of scholarly research, a strong commitment to teaching, and the language proficiency to conduct original research in Korean. Ph.D. (or advanced ABD) in Anthropology or related field is required at the time of application. Teaching and service responsibilities will be divided between Sociology and Anthropology and the Croft Institute. The Department of Sociology and Anthropology offers the BA and MA degrees in Anthropology and the Croft Institute offers a major in International Studies, one of the signature programs on campus.
