The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a three-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Anthropology beginning in August of 2021 and ending June 2024. Re-appointment for each year will be approved based on performance and administrative review. The successful applicant must have completed or be in the final stages of completing a PhD in Anthropology by August 2021. We seek a scholar whose research and teaching complements the specialties of the department. Geographic and topical specializations are open.

The successful candidate will teach six courses (three per semester), including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology and courses at the 200- and 300-level in the candidate's area(s) of specialization. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching, research, and service will contribute to the Department's commitment to diversity and academic excellence, and who demonstrate excellence in reflective multicultural and inclusive teaching practices and a strong commitment to collaboration and interdisciplinarity.
