University of California, Riverside, Library

Website

The UCR Library serves as an information commons and intellectual center for the campus and is the nexus for research and study at UCR.

Our collections include more than 4 million print volumes, more than 1 million e-books, and 143,000 serials, and thousands of multimedia materials. We also provide access to hundreds of databases and state-of-the-art information technology. These resources are accessible through three locations: Tomás Rivera Library, Orbach Science Library, and Special Collections & University Archives.

Distinctive subject collections include the Eaton Collection of Science Fiction & Fantasy, the Water Resources Collections & Archives, the Rupert Costo Library of the American Indian, Tuskegee Airmen Collections, and materials documenting the history of Inland Southern California.

The library provides wireless network access at each library location, and UCR students, staff, and faculty can remotely access most of the library's databases and other electronic resources.

Under the vision and leadership of University Librarian Steven Mandeville-Gamble, the library is on a path to excellence coordinated with the Chancellor's UCR 2020: The Path to Preeminence initiative. For more information, please read the UCR Library Strategic Plan.

The UCR Library ranks among the 120 largest research libraries in the U.S. and Canada and is a member of the Association of Research Libraries and the Center for Research Libraries.
