The University of Victoria became a degree granting institution in 1963, but its history spans 100 years and an entire continent. UVic has an enrollment of just over 18,000 students. The 160-hectare campus is a 15 minute drive from downtown Victoria, easily accessible by car, bus and bicycle and is only a short stroll from the beach.
